Install the ethernet hardware and any drivers in the PC, following the manufacturers instructions. If there is any FTP Client software supplied with the ethernet card, try this.

There is an FTP Client called 'LeetchFTP' This is available for download from: http://stud.fh-heilbronn.de/~jdebis/leechftp/ and is available in numerous languages. It is also very straightforward to install and setup.
When you connect the two machines together, use the IP Address you gave the SGI as the 'Host' and the username and password in the relevant boxes. You can now drag - and - drop files to and from the SGI from the PC. Copy items such as EDLs into/pogle/virtual and copy Platinum software versions into/pogle/versions
Depending on the file permissions on your machine, you may have to drag items into the home directory of the passworded user account, then place items where you need them.
