Updating PC/Linux Machines

The following dialog may be shown when trying to switch to a different version of Pogle Platinum:

These instructions are for adding the missing or out-of-date components.

Creating an Update CD

Download the latest ISO disk-image file from the Pandora Support page http://pogle.pandora-int.com/support.asp.

Move or copy the ISO disk-image file to the folder "/pogle/versions" on the PC/Linux machine.

Log in as the 'root' user.

Double-click the icon on the desktop to open a new File Browser.

Locate the ISO disk-image file (shown here in the "/pogle/versions" directory):

Right click the ISO disk-image file and select the "Write to Disc..." menu option:

Insert a blank CD-R disk into the CD drive of the PC/Linux machine and click the "Write" button:

The following dialog shows the progress of the CD-writing process:

When complete, the newly written CD is ejected from the drive; click the "Close" button finally.

Updating

Insert the CD.

When the CD has loaded, a 'CDROM' icon will appear on the desktop and a dialog will ask if the CD should be 'autorun'? If the CD is not 'auto-run' enable this setting and repeat the installation steps.

Click the "Yes" button and follow any prompts to complete the install process.

Right-click the 'CDROM' icon on the desktop and select the "Eject..." menu option to remove the CD from the drive.

Log out as the 'root' user and login as the 'pogle' user to re-start the existing Pogle Platinum; then proceed with the update or change of version within Pogle Platinum as normal.

"Auto-run" Setting

As the 'root' user, start the "Removable Storage" program from the Red Hat Applications menu:

Make sure the "Auto-run programs on new drives and media" is 'ticked' and click the "Close" button to apply the changes.
