Do not connect any of the Pogle hardware to the system untill the software installation has been completed. It is unlikely that the SGI will even boot up if the workstation is connected to the SCSI bus of the SGI.
It is recommended that any network configuration is carried out before the Platinum software installation is started.
Remember, unix is case sensitive - if the instructions say type in pogle, do not type in POGLE. These are two totally different words as far as the system is concerned.
Installation on an O2 or Indy running Irix 6.3 or 6.5.X
Installation on an Indy running Irix 6.2
A dark neutral background colour works best on the SGI. The settings
for the background and window colours are available in the SGI
toolchest:
Desktop > Customise > Background
Desktop > Customise Colour Schemes
SGI machines will not boot if there is no keyboard attached. The Indy will tell you, the O2 will not!
